Program Description

The Creative Writing minor at Saint Michael’s College offers students the opportunity to develop their voice and craft across genres such as fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and screenwriting. Through small, workshop-style courses led by published writers, students receive individualized feedback and mentorship while studying the techniques and traditions that shape effective storytelling. The program emphasizes both creative exploration and critical analysis, helping students refine their work and engage deeply with literature. Open to students in any major, the Creative Writing minor fosters skills in communication, creativity, and critical thinking—valuable assets in fields ranging from publishing and media to education, law, and beyond.
