Durick Library


Durick Library supports research and scholarship by students, faculty, and staff at Saint Michael’s College. Librarians offer expert research assistance both on campus and remotely. The library offers diverse collections in multiple formats, including access to 165 research databases, over 564,000 eBooks, 234,000 print books, 84,500 online journals and magazines, 114,000 streaming videos, and much more. Interlibrary loan services are available for books, articles, and other information resources not found in the library’s collections.

Research services include drop-in research help, individual scheduled consultations with a librarian, research instruction classes, workshops, and student engagement activities.

The Archives is located in Durick Library and houses the Rare Book Collection, the Archives of the Society of Saint Edmund, and the designated repository for official records of Saint Michael’s College, which include: manuscripts; student records; college publications; administrative papers; video and audio recordings; and photographs relating to the history of the College. The Archives of the Society of Saint Edmund includes official records for the Society and manuscript materials from individual members.

Durick Library is open 94 hours per week while classes are in session and provides spaces for research, quiet and group study, and public access to computers. Online resources are available 24 hours per day both on and off campus. 

In addition, the Library is home to the Student Success Center, which includes advising services, the Boucher Career Education Center, Accessibility Services, Peer Tutoring, and the Writing Center. The Library also houses a Starbucks self-serve café and the Commuter Student Lounge.

Saint Michael’s is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
