Program Description

At Saint Michael's College, History majors engage with a broad range of courses spanning diverse regions and eras, including the United States, Europe (ancient, medieval, and modern), Latin America, East Asia, and the Islamic world. Students learn from faculty who are active scholars and bring their research expertise directly into the classroom. Faculty specialties include 19th-century New England and New York, 20th-century Chinese politics, medieval Italy and religion, U.S. politics and culture, race and society in the Caribbean, and Britain during World War II. The program emphasizes critical analysis, historical research, and global perspectives, preparing students for a wide range of academic and professional pursuits.
