Program Description

The Aquatic and Marine Biology minor at Saint Michael’s College offers students a strong foundation in biological sciences with a specialized focus on freshwater and marine ecosystems. Through hands-on learning with local partners - such as ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Mystic Aquarium, and Associates of Cape Cod Inc. - students gain practical experience exploring aquatic systems across New England. The program also includes opportunities for global engagement, such as the annual summer course Coastal Biology of Ireland. The Aquatic Biology minor is designed to complement any major, enriching a student’s academic experience with interdisciplinary study and applied research in aquatic environments.
