Program Description

The Medieval and Early Modern Studies minor at Saint Michael’s College is an interdisciplinary program that invites students to explore the cultures and societies of Europe, West Asia, and North Africa from the fifth through the seventeenth centuries. By examining this transformative period, students gain insight into the roots of many modern political, economic, and artistic institutions. The minor allows for individualized pathways, drawing on courses from disciplines such as Classics, History, English, Fine Arts, Religious Studies, Modern Languages, and Philosophy. It complements a wide range of majors, and many students pursue it alongside studies in History, Education, or Religious Studies.
