Public history is a broad category that refers to
the study and presentation of history to a
non-academic public. Public historians work in a
variety of areas including, but not limited to,
libraries, museums, historic sites, historic
houses, for federal and state governments, and
corporations. This course explores the broad scope
of public history, the value of public history,
and provides a basis for a career path that
explores history outside of the traditional
classroom.
