Program Description

Economics provides a mental toolkit to analyze and solve real-world problems. It is a great field for students who are interested in how people, institutions, and markets interact in the context of critical social issues such as climate change, health, cost of living, and financial crises. By learning how to use quantitative and statistical methods, students begin learn to better understand the behavior of businesses and society at large. At Saint Michael's, Economics is an academically rigorous major with built-in flexibility for students to follow their passions and interests by incorporating second majors and/or minors into their program of study.
