Required for the Mathematics Major:
And choose:
- A minimum of four additional mathematics courses at or above the 200 level (3 credits each), at least one of which is a 400 level course.
Notes:
- Students may design an interdisciplinary mathematics major. This will incorporate courses in mathematics together with courses in a field of application. Some example fields are: elementary education, economics, computer science, or biology. Such a program is individually planned in consultation with advisors in mathematics and in the allied field, and must be approved by the Mathematics Department. More information is available from the department chair.
- Because of the increasing impact of computers on our subject, the Department highly recommends that students take CS 113. The Department also suggests PY 210-211 or BI 151-153 to students interested in scientific applications.
