EN 228 - American Childhood This course examines literary, visual, and material cultures of childhood in order to theorize and historicize representations and experiences of children in the United States, past and present. We will pay particular attention to the ways in which the categories of race, gender, sexuality, and class are mapped onto the bodies of children and inflect ideas about them.
