DMC 323 - Race, Gender and Ethnicity in Media This course is an introduction to analysis of representations of identities such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and ethnicity in the mass media. We view, read about, analyze and discuss mass media like television, film, print, radio, music, sports, news, advertising, and the web to determine if and how race, gender and ethnicity are depicted. An underlying understanding within the course is recognition of the inextricable intersectionality of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, etc.

Prerequisites/Restrictions: DMC-101; Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors Only.
