PH 358 - Power, Resistance, & Race This course examines questions about race, identity, power, oppression, resistance, and liberation. Is race central to subjectivity? Are we free in determining who we are, given powerful forces of socialization and domination in our racialized world? Does human nature lead to conformity and oppression? How can we overcome oppression? We will examine ideas from thinkers and leaders around the world who have challenged systems of racial and ethnic domination and inspired movements for liberation.
