PH 361 - Metaphysics Metaphysics is the branch of philosophical inquiry that is concerned with the nature of reality. In this way, metaphysics may be viewed as the attempt to reason about the way the world or universe is, as opposed to how it is customarily viewed. It is especially concerned with understanding the most fundamental principles and general features of what is real.
