HI 461 - Society and Culture in Medieval Italy An exploration of the relationship between culture (literature, law, philosophy, and the visual arts) and society (politics, economy) in medieval Italy before, during, and after the age of the communes (with particular attention to the achievements of Dante, Giotto, and Boccaccio).
Prerequisites: Junior or Senior standing and either HI 108 or HU 101; or permission of the instructor.
