School Leadership Practicum I

Course Description

The School Leadership Practicum is designed for students enrolled in the Principal, Director of Special Education, and Director of Curriculum endorsement programs. It requires a full-year commitment including three courses, GED 680, 681, and 682, which must be taken in sequence during one academic year. Students complete a 300-hour internship beginning in the summer, a professional portfolio, and additional study in leadership. GED 680 is the first course in the year-long sequence.

Registration requires instructor permission. To be eligible to complete the practicum, which begins in May, students must be matriculated (admitted and enrolled) in the M.Ed. or C.A.G.S. School Leadership program by the start of the spring semester. Therefore, students must apply to the program by the preceding November 1, two semesters prior to staring the practicum. Students will earn grades of Pass/Fail for GED 680 and 681 and a final letter grade in GED 682.
