GSA 513 - Financial Management IThis course introduces the beginning student of finance to the basic principles and practices of financial management. The emphasis is on application and theory. Five major areas will be covered: fundamental concepts, financial statements and forecasting, capital budgeting, long-term financing decisions, and working capital. Special situations in finance, i.e., mergers, bankruptcy, international finance, leasing, and small business finance will be accessible to students in the assigned text, but are not covered in this course.
Prerequisites: GSA 494 Accounting for Managers or permission of instructor.
Credits: 3 cr.
