BI 325 - Molecular Biology The study of information flow from DNA to protein. Lecture topics include chemistry of DNA, RNA, and proteins; organization of genes, chromosomes, and genomes; transcription and translation; gene regulation; epigenetics; DNA replication; and genome evolution. The laboratory explores how molecular biology techniques are used to clone and characterize novel genes.
Prerequisites: BI 151 and BI 153 with a grade of “C” or better in each; BI 223; CH 110 (or CH 103), CH 117 (or CH 204).
