AL 220 - Languages of the World This course introduces the linguistic, sociopolitical, and economic effects of language contact over time. The Indo-European family illustrates typological principles which students then apply to other languages and their status on the world’s stage, focusing on the role of languages in globalization and the impact of globalization on language evolution.
