Licensed Vermont school teachers seeking to add a Multilingual Learner (formerly ELL) endorsement may pursue the MATESOL program to fulfill academic competencies required by the Vermont Department of Education. The coursework involves a 60-hour associated practicum component to meet state-mandated student teaching requirements. Endorsement candidates must also pass the Praxis II (ESOL) exam to satisfy state requirements.

All MATESOL students are required to complete GSL 500 , GSL 542 , and GSL 543  as outlined in the Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages  section of this catalog.
