M.Ed. in Special Education with Additional Consulting Teacher Endorsement (Grades K-8, Grade 7 – Age 21, or Grade K - Age 21)

Consulting Teacher Endorsement


The goal of this Graduate Program is to prepare special educators with the skills necessary for cooperation and collaboration among students and adults at all school levels.  Leadership, responsibility, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution strategies are incorporated into the courses.  Students take a “Current Topics in Special Education” course, which is updated to address current needs in the schools.

After obtaining the Special Educator license, students may also pursue an additional endorsement for Consulting Teacher.  A Master’s is required for this endorsement.

Consulting Teacher Endorsement Required Courses (12 additional credits)


Students with a Special Educator license working towards a Consulting Teacher endorsement and M.Ed. need to complete the required courses:

To complete the M.Ed. in Special Education, students will select six more credits in special education and twelve more elective credits in addition to these two required courses:
