Licensure: Middle Level Education (Grades 5-9)

Saint Michael’s College Graduate Programs in Education has an approved program that leads to licensure in the following subject areas: English, Mathematics, General Science and Social Studies. Prerequisites for Admission to Middle Level Licensure Program are:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in the liberal arts and sciences, with appropriate liberal arts general education courses.
- One eighteen-credit “minor” in a content area appropriate to middle grades curriculum, and as defined in Vermont regulations.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 3.0, and a G.P.A. of 3.0 in the content areas.
- Successful completion of the entrance interview.
- Evidence of successful work experience with children.
All licensure applicants must also apply to the M.Ed. or C.A.G.S. program. We now offer an additional endorsement (different content area or level) for students if requirements have been met. Please consult with your advisor.
