GED 528 - Pre-K-6 Curriculum, Assessment and ManagementThis course will focus on curriculum in the PreK-Grade 6 curriculum. Using the Vt. Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities, Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards and the multiple lenses of place based education and service learning, students will develop a comprehensive, integrated unit of study for the classroom. The development of this unit can be focused on the ELL Classroom, Special Education, and/or heterogeneous classrooms. Diversity in student populations, as well as 21st century challenges in teaching and learning will be explored. Exploring classroom management and assessment will play a major part in this class as foundations for student success.
Prerequisites: Must have taken GED 516 Educational Foundations: Understanding the Past and Creating the Future.
Credits: 4 cr.
