AN 235 - Peoples and Cultures of the Lusophone World Introduces students to the unique perspective that anthropology and the ethnographic method bring to our understanding of cultural history, national identity, and the legacies of Portuguese colonialism around the world. Class approximates cultural immersion as much as possible, relying primarily on a deep reading of class ethnographies and contemporary fiction from the Portuguese speaking world.
