PO 340 - Social Movements and Contentious Politics This course provides a theoretical and empirical exploration of social movements and contentious politics. We will focus especially on North American and European approaches to social movement theory and study a variety of cases of national and transnational mobilization and protest, from the U.S. Civil Rights Movement to the global justice movement.
