BI 315 - Microbiology Microorganism impact our lives and environment in many ways. This 300-level course will introduce concepts of microbiology focusing on prokaryotes. Topics will include the structure, metabolism, growth, genetics, and evolution of prokaryotic microorganisms as well as microbe-host interactions. Fundamental aspects of virology will be discussed. Laboratory explores microbiological techniques used to study and identify microorganisms.
Prerequisites: BI 151, BI 153 with a grade of “C” or better in each, BI 223 or BI 225, CH 110 (or CH 103), CH 117 (or CH 204), CH 208 (or CH 107).
