AR 251 - Survey of the History of Art I: Cave Painting to the Renaissance

Examination of early human achievement in the arts, from the cave paintings of Lascaux to Chartres cathedral and the frescoes of Giotto. Special interest is given to methods of analyzing form, subject matter and ideology in art and architecture.
