School Leadership Concentration (M.Ed.)

Students in the Master’s Program in School Leadership work individually and with colleagues, in the classroom and in the field, to explore concepts while acquiring and applying their skills. An initial teaching license or equivalent is required for admission. The additional endorsement as a Vermont School Principal can be obtained through this program if the applicant has a teaching license and a minimum of three years K-12 teaching.

GED 511 - Fundamentals of Curriculum Credits: 3 cr.
GED 558 - Educator as Researcher Credits: 3 cr.
GED 567 - Legal and Financial Management of Schools Credits: 4 cr.
GED 572 - School Leadership Credits: 3 cr.
GED 618 - From Assessment to Action: Using Data to Improve Student Learning Credits: 3 cr.
GED 621 - Supervision, Evaluation, and Teacher Development Credits: 3 cr.
GED 684 - School and Community Credits: 3 cr.
GED 688A - School Leadership Practicum Credits: 6 cr. total over 3 semesters
GED 699 - Capstone Seminar Credits: 3 cr.

Electives (8 credits)

Students may choose eight credits from among other graduate course offerings. It is highly recommended that students select courses from the School Leadership program as well as in the areas of special education and curriculum.
