Students in the Program may begin taking courses at UVM as early as spring semester of their first year, but generally no later than fall of the second year. The required courses will depend upon the specific engineering area chosen.
It is very important that Engineering students consult regularly with their pre-engineering advisor to ensure that their course selection is appropriate and to obtain approval to register for UVM courses. Some UVM student fees fro courses taken at UVM may apply.
There are specific grade requirements for continuation in the Program. To ensure successful transfer to UVM, students should maintain a GPA of 2.3 or better in courses required for the Program.
Upon transfer to UVM, tuition and fees are paid to UVM, and students must apply to UVM for financial aid. SMC financial aid is not transferable.
