GED 670 - Bringing History and Literature to Life Through the Arts

Drawing on resources of two nationally respected arts institutions, the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and the Shelburne Museum, participants explore creative approaches to classroom instruction and focus on techniques to reach students with multiple learning styles. Utilizing the elements of theater – drama, writing, movement, music, and art – the class brings to life the experiences of ordinary nineteenth and twentieth century Americans, demonstrating how arts, literature, and American history can be integrated. Class ends with an informal presentation of original work of the museum.
