EN 407 - African-American Literature This course explores how the tradition of African American literature has evolved in response to historical and cultural conditions, with particular focus on the relations between oral, musical, and vernacular expression and written texts. Special topics may include: autobiography, blues and jazz in literature, visionary improvisation in black poetry.
