ED 325 - Teaching Elementary Mathematics, PK-6 Explores the nature of learning and teaching math and science with an emphasis on developing student understanding through active involvement and inquiry. Using experiences with a variety of instructional materials, classroom activities with children, and innovative and diverse teaching strategies, students develop an understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures.
Credits: 4
Prerequisites/Restrictions: ED-231 and ED-251 and Prior Completion of or Concurrent Enrollment in ED-300; Education Majors/Minors/Licensure Students Only.
Notes: Includes a two-hour per week public school classroom experience, in addition to the scheduled class times, for ten weeks.
