GPS 505 - Physiological Dimensions of Psychology

This course will critically examine theory and research on the physiological correlates of behavior, emphasizing the structure and function of the nervous system and the research on the utilization of psychotropic medications and their effectiveness.  The role of psychological well-being and behavior in health and illness will also be explored.

Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s Degree, Introduction to Psychology and Physiological Psychology or its equivalent. The instructor recommends reviewing Neil R. Carlson’s Behavioral Neuroscience text prior to enrolling in this course.
