ED 300 - Teaching Social Studies and the Arts

In this course, students extend their knowledge of how theory in curriculum design turns into practice. We focus on: the disciplines of social studies, history and art; an interdisciplinary approach to teaching for equity and social justice; and the creation of a classroom community where the academic and emotional needs of each student is addressed. We will integrate the Common Core Standards and Grade Level Expectations with “best practices” in curriculum.
