FS 131 - Watch Your Language Language is one of the most powerful ways in which we attempt to influence others. This course will explore ways in which language is used to create, maintain and shape social relationships and cultural attitudes. Students will investigate topics in which language exerts great influence (for example, politics, advertising, media, and gender roles). The course will also help to develop an appreciation for the richness, flexibility, and power of language, as well as an ability to use language more effectively in speech and writing.
