EN 205 - The Greek and the Roman Theatre Representative dramatic works of Attic tragedy and comedy as well as the adaptations made by the Romans, from the works of Aeschylus in the fifth century B.C. to the plays of Seneca in the second century A.D. Secondary readings, visual materials, video tapes of performances, slides, and discussion will focus on the development of classical drama, the ancient theater, and stagecraft, against the backdrop of contemporary society.
